1) So tell us a little bit about you. How did you get into training and modeling? What made you decide to enter the Ironman/Bodyspace model contest?

WELL LETS SEE….I JUST WON MS BIKINI FLORIDA SHORT CLASS 2010 AND I COULDNT BE MORE THRILLED ABOUT THAT! I ALSO PLACED 6TH AT THE UNIVERSE SHOW (WHICH WAS MY FIRST COMP) THIS PAST JUNE AS WELL. I AM SPONSORED BY A NEW COMPANY CALLED ROCKET LABS, AND THEIR PRODUCTS WILL BE HITTING SHELVES JUST IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS!!

I DONT CONSIDER MYSELF A “MODEL” BUT I GUESS BECOMING A FITNESS MODEL IS SOMETHING THAT COMES ALONG WITH WINNING COMPETITIONS AND ENTERING THE SPOKESMODEL SEARCH! HAHA…

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN ACTIVE IN SPORTS AND WORKING OUT, BUT I STARTED ‘TRAINING’, TO COMPETE IN PARTICULAR, THIS PAST MARCH. AND IM DEFINATELY HOOKED! I LOVE TRANSFORMING MY BODY AND SEEING ALL THE HARDWORK AND DEDICATION PAY OFF. AS FOR THE CONTEST, I DECIDED TO ENTER BECAUSE THERE ARE HUGE OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPOSURE THAT COMES OUT OF WINNING, AND I WOULD LOVE TO BE APART OF BODYBUILDING.COM!

2) What are your 3 favorite body parts to train and why? Give us a training trick or tip for each.

MY #1 FAVORITE IS SHOULDERS! IT IS HOWEVER, ONE OF THE TOUGHEST AREAS TO DEVELOP ON A WOMAN. THAT BEING SAID, I TRAIN THEM TWICE A WEEK ON MONDAYS & THURSDAYS. MY BEST ADVICE, WHICH HAS WORKED FOR ME, IS DONT BE AFRAID OF WEIGHT LADIES!

GO AS HEAVY AS YOU CAN, THATS THE ONLY WAY TO REALLY MAKE THOSE DELTS POP! OTHER THAN SHOULDERS…I LOVE WORKING MY BACK AND ABS. THERES NOTHING LIKE SEEING A STRONG BACK ON A WOMAN AND OF COURSE EVERYONE WANTS SEXY ABS!

3) Do you ever have a typical “offseason” or do you stay “picture” lean year round? How does your diet vary between the two?

SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST YEAR COMPETING, I HAVENT HAD A TRUE OFF-SEASON YET. HOWEVER, EVEN WHEN I DONT HAVE A SHOW WITHIN 4 WEEKS, MY DIET IS EXACTLY THE SAME. BECAUSE IM STILL STRIVING FOR A BETTER PHYSIQUE. AFTER ALL, ISNT THAT WHAT THIS LIFESTYLE IS ALL ABOUT? THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT, AND MY GOAL IS PERFECTION 😉

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FROM WHEN IM IN CONTEST PREP AND WHEN IM NOT, IS I’LL ALLOW MYSELF A CHEAT MEAL HERE AND THERE. OTHER THAN THAT…ITS NOTHING BUT CLEAN, COMPETITION DIETING. TO BE HONEST…AFTER A WHILE, THATS ALL I EVEN DESIRE. I HATE THE FEELING AFTER I ALLOW MYSELF TO CHEAT…I WORK SO HARD TO KEEP MY BODY IN TIP-TOP SHAPE, THAT I DONT WANT TO LET A CHEESY, GREASY MEAL TO LET IT ALL GO DOWN THE DRAIN!

4) What has been the most frustrating area for you to train? How have you approached it to bust through your plateau?

DEFINATELY MY ABS! ITS EASY TO GET A FLAT STOMACH. BUT TO ACTUALLY DEVELOP ‘ABS’ AND GET THEM TO LOOK SHREDDED IS THE HARD PART. OBVIOUSLY DIET IS 75% OF THIS LIFESTYLE, BUT ITS 100% WHEN IT COMES TO FORMING A 6 PACK! MY WORD OF ADVICE IS TO USE WEIGHTS. YOUR ABDOMINALS ARE A MUSCLE JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PART OF YOUR BODY, SO IF YOU WANT A 6 PACK…YOU HAVE TO TREAT THEM THE SAME AND BUILD THEM UP!

5) People get very motivated looking at in-shape people like yourself. How has your social life changed? How have guys responded to you develop a fantastic physique?

WHAT SOCIAL LIFE? HAHA…I MUST SAY SINCE IVE BEEN TRAINING, MY SOCIAL LIFE HAS DRASTICALLY CHANGED. OBVIOUSLY ALCOHOL IS A NO-NO, SO MY IDEA OF A NIGHT OUT IS A TURKEY BURGER FROM MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT AND A MOVIE LOL. ITS PRETTY TOUGH BALANCING YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY, SCHOOL, WORK, & TRAINING. BUT IM DOING MY BEST TO FIND THAT BALANCE.

THERE ARE ALOT OF GUYS WHO APPRECIATE MY HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO THE GYM, AND ARE IMPRESSED WITH MY STRENGTH, WHICH MAKES ME FEEL GREAT! BUT WHAT I DONT LIKE SO MUCH…ARE THE GUYS WHO ARE RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS AND MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU ARE PUT THERE FOR THEIR VIEWING PLEASURE!
