With the summer in full effect starting next week, everyone is trying to lose fat. What one place does everyone turn to for rapid fat loss? Well the treadmill of course. In reality, you don’t need to use the treadmill to get a great cardio workout. Here’s three other options that you have to try.
1. Strength training cardio
Sounds weird right? Everyone knows about strength training and about cardio but most people never realize about the hybrid form of strength training cardio. No, it’s not some form of jumping rope while you squat or anything crazy like that. It’s simply a combination of strength training work doing in an interval training fashion for a short burst of time.
A popular example is weighted vest stair running. I recently released the Resurrection Interval Training workout, which is based around strength training cardio. It’s so intense that you don’t have to spend even 30 minutes doing it.
2. Kettlebell work
I LOVE kettlebells for extra cardio so much that I keep a pair in my basement. While I’m not a intense kettlebell person like others that you’d find online, I do know the value for performing them as cardio. I prefer them over the treadmill because there easier on your joints and provide you with a great cardio workout.
Follow this kettlebell cardio workout
1) Single Arm Kettlebell Swings 3 sets of 30 seconds each arm
2) Double Arm Kettlebel Swings 3 sets of 15 reps
3)Kettlebell Push-ups 3 sets of 12 reps
4) Kettlebell Figure 8’s 3 sets of 10 reps

3. Bodyweight workouts
What makes bodyweight workouts so effective is that you don’t have an external weight that will help to stabilize you, it’s up to your own body. Plus, you have to challenge your body with different angles since you don’t have extra weight. This works both your aerobic and anaerobic system, which makes bodyweight workout so much more effective.
