Recently I got a question from a reader about how to increase back thickness. Now without seeing a picture of the reader, here was my response.
If you want a thicker back then you have to learn one important lesson. Don’t worry if you’ll only gain 8 pounds of muscle by doing 12 reps instead of 10 pounds of muscle with 8 reps. That really doesn’t matter.
All that matters is that the next workout is more progressive and tougher than the previous one. A few reps either way isn’t really going to matter.
If you want a significant difference in your appearance then you need to get a 230 pound deadlift for 8 reps to 400 pounds for 10 reps. That’s how you’ll get a bigger back.
