Is Tilapia Healthy For Fat Loss Diets? (tilapia nutrition facts)

When individuals jump into a bodybuilding contest diet or any type of diet to lose fat, they tend to add more fish to their diet. They’ve heard about how healthy omega-3 fats are for increasing fat loss. Tilapia is one of those foods but is it healthy for a six pack diet?

Fish is known to be a metabolism boosting food and one of those foods that can help people lose lower ab fat. Ok, we get that but tilapia isn’t as healthy as some make it.

  1. Tilapia is farm raised. You won’t catch it in Alaska or in any ocean. Think about this, how nasty is fish raised on a farm?
  2. It has extremely low levels of omega-3 fatty acids and harmful amounts of omega-6 fats. Omega-6’s are pro-inflammatory and we all know that inflammation contributions to various health problems.
  3. Since it’s not found in cold-water places, it is suspect to various environmental toxins.

You need to find a wild caught fish, I prefer Alaskan salmon since it is without toxins plus contains high amounts of omega-3 fats. If you don’t like fish, then I highly suggest this omega-3 supplement. I use it. ¬†They have a 3rd party company that tests every bottle and they are mercury free. Great stuff.
